Досліджено дію постійного магнітного поля в діапазоні чисел На = 0–170 на структуру і властивості литого силуміну з міддю типу АК12М2. За допомогою обробки магнітним полем здійснюється як укрупнення, так і подрібнення зерен сплаву, їхнє насичення парамагнітними елементами Ti, Sn і діамагнітними Cu і Zn, регулювання співвідношення фаз у литій структурі. У результаті рівень твердості сплаву, повільно охолодженого в алундовій формі при дії поля, відповідав термообробленому сплаву, закристалізованому під тиском. Рівень насиченості міддю зерен сплаву, отриманий безпосередньо при кристалізації в полі, був наближений до термообробленого металу. Корозійна стійкість сплаву збільшилась без використання спеціальних добавок. Застосування постійного магнітного поля при кристалізації сплаву дає можливість економії добавок для його легування, модифікування, а також збереження електроенергії.
